Fairfield police said they were asked to help bail bondsmen arrest Pegues, 22, of Old Mill Road, acting on a tip that he was at a Jennings Beach parking lot. Fairfield police set up a perimeter around the parking lot while several bail bondmen found Pegues in a car driven by a girlfriend, and attempted to take him into custody. However, he was able to escape even though he lost his shoes and shirt during a struggle, said the Newstimes.

Segues fled on foot through backyards in the Craig Court area. Police, including K-9 officers searched for hours.

Segues, who was wanted on several failure to appear warrants, was finally found at his brother's Danbury home and taken into custody.
