Kevin Bowles, 21, of Erdman Place, was charged with third-degree larceny and second-degree forgery in the incident, which was first reported on April 22, 2015, police said.
Bristol police stopped Bowles on another matter Sunday and turned him over to Fairfield police on an outstanding warrant.
He is accused of cashing a fraudulent check from Visiting Angels of Fairfield, police said.
He has a $20,000 bond on the Fairfield charge and was turned over to Bridgeport police, who also had a warrant for Bowles, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 3.
