Bridgeport Woman Charged With Shoplifting Beer In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman was arrested on larceny charges Saturday, charged with stealing beer and assorted household supplies from the Stop & Shop on Villa Avenue in Fairfield, police said.

Desiree Alicea, 32, of Pennsylvania Avenue, was seen leaving the store with beer, tissues, paper towels, plates and garbage bags that she did not purchase, police said. When stopped by a store employee, Alicea put down the items, valued at $118, and drove away, police said. She was stopped by police.

She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 7.
