Bridgeport Man Charged With Southport Break-In

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Bridgeport man was charged with breaking into a Southport home Tuesday afternoon, according to police reports. Police believe the suspect may also be responsible for a series of similar burglaries in Fairfield over the last few week, police say.

Police identified Michael Ziman, 26, of Bridgeport as a suspect in “several residential burglaries” through witness reports, according to a press release. Investigators saw his car empty and running in the area of Juniper Lane and Barberry Road Tuesday afternoon and waited nearby. Officer then saw Ziman get in the car and drive away quickly before pulling him over nearby, police say.

Detectives found signs of forced entry on a home nearby on Juniper Lane, according to police reports. Ziman also had jewelry that police believe was stolen from the Juniper Lane house, police say. Investigators are also trying to link Ziman to other burglaries in Fairfield using similar methods, according to a press release.

Ziman was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony. He was held on a $100,000 bond, and he is due in court on May 21.
