FAIRFIELD, Conn. – William "Bill" E. McFadden, of Fairfield, and Nettles Island and Jensen Beach, Fla., died on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at his home in Fairfield. He was 86.
McFadden was born in Fairfield in 1928 to Helen and John McFadden, growing up in Bridgeport.
He graduated from St. Anne's Elementary School and Bullard Havens Technical School, serving in the Navy after graduation.
McFadden worked as an ironworker for 42 years as a member of Local 424 before retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Marlee, son Wayne and sister Shirley McCormack.
McFadden is survived by his daughter Cheryl McGuffie, son Brien and his wife Kate of Palm City, Fla.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Laureen Williams; brother John Jr. and his wife Shirley, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Friday at 4 to 8 p.m. at the Larson Funeral Home, located at 2496 North Avenue in Bridgeport.
A funeral service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield.
Interment will be at Mt. Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
