FAIRFIELD, Conn. - William Finley Vanderlip, Jr. of Fairfield died Monday, July 22. He was 56.
Vanderlip was born in Elmira, N.Y., to Dr. William Finley Vanderlip and Margaret Costello Vanderlip. He was a graduate of Colgate University and a self-employed master craftsman and carpenter.
Vanderlip is survived by his wife Celeste Boehm Vanderlip, two children William Finley, III and Grace Elizabeth; his parents; sisters, Mary Vanderlip Gornbein (Joel Gornbein), Margaret Vanderlip O'Neil (Thomas O'Neil), his mother-in-law, Blanche Boehm; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Davis (predeceased Mark Davis); brothers-in-law, Daniel James Boehm (Christine), Christopher Charles Boehm (Beth); and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27 at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. A reception will follow in the church hall.
