Warren Long, 34, Lifelong Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Lifelong Fairfield resident Warren Thomas Long died Saturday, Jan. 23. He was 34.

Long received his bachelor’s in economics, with a minor in East Asian studies, from Bucknell University. After graduation, he taught English in Japan. Long then received an MBA from the University of Connecticut. His career in finance included positions at Kolmar Americas Petrochemicals in Zug, Switzerland, Wexford Capital in Greenwich and Northern Shipping Funds in Stamford.

Long loved all things Japanese, cooking, beer, live music venues, Bucknell University and exotic travels.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Shevlin Long; son Warren "Jude" Long; parents Raymond and Nancy (Cail) Long of Fairfield; sister Emily Long of Washington, D.C.; maternal grandfather Douglas Cail of Statesboro, Ga.; paternal grandmother Marie Long of Coral Springs, Fla.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephew and his cat Briar.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 in the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Ave., Southport, with the Reverands Paul and Laura Whitmore officiating. Interment will be private. Spear-Miller Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
