McCormack was born in Roscommon, Ireland, living in Fairfield for 56 years and retired after 48 years at New Haven and Hartford, Penn Central, Con-Rail and Metro North Railroads.
He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, and is survived by his wife Teresa (nee McInerney), two sons; Patrick and his wife Meredith, and Timothy of Trumbull, two daughters; Mary and her husband John Cerreta of Naugatuck, and Karen, brother Joseph and his wife Bridie, four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Larson Funeral Home, located at 2496 North Ave. in Bridgeport.
A funeral mass will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield.
Interment will follow at Mt. Grove of Easton Cemetery.
