FAIRFIELD, Conn. Susan Santucci of Fairfield died Saturday, Aug. 4, at her home, surrounded by family. She was 98.
Born Jan. 27, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the president of a family clothing business before retiring. She married Isidore Santucci and spent the last 30 years as a resident of Fairfield, where she was an active member of the St. Thomas Seniors, Fairfield Seniors, Golden Agers and Columbiettes.
Santucci loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, especially traditional Italian dinners. In her retirement, Santucci enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and attending the theater and opera.
She is survived by two children, Elyse Santucci, of Fairfield, and Anthony "Tony" (Patricia Bellock) Santucci, of Spring, Tex.; three grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Angelo Catalano. She was predeceased by her husband.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home in Fairfield Center.
