FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Samuel M. Bader, of Fairfield, died at the age of 90.
He was born in Bridgeport and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Settling in Fairfield, where he raised his four children, he founded Bader's TV, a fixture on Black Rock Turnpike for more than 50 years.
He and his wife Betty were founding members of Congregation Beth El.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Poritzky) Bader; four children Linda and Sam Lazinger of Fairfield, Alan and Pam Bader of Trumbull, Diane Bader Anderson of Sarasota, Fla. and Randi and Rob Gelbard of Skillman, N.J.; grandchildren Illana and Neil Nissenbaum, Rebecca Lazinger, Shira and David Krieger, Stephanie Bader, Seth Bader, Joshua Gelbard, Simon Gelbard, Hannah Anderson and Aidan Anderson; and great-grandchildren Talia, Aleah and Aaron Nissenbaum.
Shiva will be observed following services Monday at the home of Linda and Sam Lazinger, 595 Holly Dale Road.
