At 18, Rotolo joined the Army Air Corps, returning after World War II in 1944. He attended Arnold College — which later became the University of Bridgeport — and was the owner of Rotolo LTD, a snack food distribution company.
He is survived by his second wife, Beverly Topar Rotolo; his younger brother, Charles Rotolo and his wife Linda; his children, Nancy Jean Tamulis and her husband James, and Samuel Rotolo Jr. and his wife Suzanne; his grandchildren, Monica, Gregory and Lindsey DiGiovanni, Samuel Rotolo III, Terry Wallace and Rebecca Mecure; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rotolo was predeceased by wife Jessie; a brother, Dominick Rotolo; and a sister, Sally Szoke.
Friends are invited to call Friday, April 29, from 4-7 p.m. at Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, April 30, at 9:15 a.m. at Lesko & Polke Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Emery's Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment with military honors will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
