Rudolf Lazinger, 69, Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Rudolf "Rudy" Lazinger of Fairfield, formerly of Easton, died Wednesday, Jan. 6. He was 69.

He was born in a displaced persons camp in Feldafing, Germany. His parents, Nathan and Fanny Lazinger, were Holocaust survivors. He came to Bridgeport with his parents in 1948, and attended Elias Howe Elementary School, Bassick High School and Norwalk Community College. 

He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for many years. 

He operated a family-owned business, Nathan's Men's Shop. He later operated Nathan's Pawn Shop with his late wife, Claire. 

He was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom and the former Temple Lodge 127 AF+AM, Loyalty Lodge No. 58 I.O.O.F., and was always welcomed at Congregation Beth El in Fairfield.

He is survived by his daughter, Julia and her husband, Joseph Coady, of Greene, Maine; his brother attorney Samuel J. Lazinger and his wife, Linda (Bader) Lazinger; three nieces; special cousins Alan and Susan Kasson; numerous cousins in the U.S. and Israel; and family friend Jackie Barriel.

The family wishes to give thanks to the Fairfield Emergency Services team and especially The Fairfield Police Department for their exemplary services.

The funeral services will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with interment following at Loyalty Lodge Cemetery on Burroughs Road in Fairfield.
