FAIRFIELD, Conn. Richard C. Kerstetter Jr., a longtime Fairfield resident, died Aug. 1. He was 72.
The son of Richard and Dorothy Kerstetter, he was born and raised in Bridgeport. Kerstetter lived in Fairfield for 45 years. He served in Marine Corps. and was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft.
Kerstetter relished the time he spent with his family and dogs. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and attended every game.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Lauria Kerstetter, a son Richard (Kim) Kerstetter of Fairfield, his mother-in-law Nicky Lauria of Fairfield, a brother-in-law Sam (Debbie) Lauria of Fairfield, a sister Judy Armstrong of Ansonia, Conn., two grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Church, with the Rev. Peter Towsley officiating. Burial will be private. Lesko and Polke Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
