FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Peter E. Norton, 90, of Fairfield, husband of the late Lorraine Norton, died Monday, Dec. 14.
The fourth child of six, Peter was born July 23, 1925, and raised in Fairfield. His parents were William Norton and Jenny McFadden.
He lived his entire life in Fairfield, where he opened a real estate business in 1954, Norton Real Estate, on Post Road, from which he retired at the age of 88.
He was a member of the Fairfield Board of Realtors from 1954 to 2014.
He married his wife, Lorraine, at the age of 19, and together they raised a family in the town where he grew up.
He is survived by his two children and their spouses, Timothy and MaryBeth Norton of Monroe and Maureen and Mark Cassidy of Easton; four grandchildren, Shane Cassidy and his wife Kerry of Glen Ellin, Ill., Ryan Norton Cassidy and his wife, Bethany of Monroe and Samantha and Connor Norton of Monroe.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Jack Robinson Cassidy and Teagan Cassidy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Thom, and five siblings, William, Jack and James Norton, Rita Dunlap and Marion Holecz.
