FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Maurice P. Corrigan, a longtime resident of Greenfield Hill in Fairfield, died Jan. 18 at his home. He was 86.
He was born June 21, 1926, in Dublin, Ireland to Nicholas and Mary Brigid Corrigan. He graduated from University College in Dublin and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1957.
Corrigan became an American citizen and worked in international business for a number of large U.S. corporations. He was married to Ursula Honegger Corrigan, who predeceased him.
Later in his career, Corrigan pursued academic interests as a tenured professor at Teikyo Post University. He enjoyed rugby football and crew as a young man and equestrian sports later in life.
A resident of Greenfield Hill for 49 years, Corrigan served as master of foxhounds at the Fairfield County Hunt Club and the last master of the Fairfield County Beagles.
Corrigan is survived by four children, Dr. Mark Corrigan, of Boston, Corinne Corrigan, of Natick, Mass., Durelle Green, of Easton, and Stephen Corrigan, of Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.; two brothers, Gerald and Paul; a sister, Margaret; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Greenfield Hill. Spear-Miller Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ursula Corrigan Children's Fund at St. Timothy's Church, 4670 Congress St., Fairfield, CT 06824.
