FAIRFIELD, Conn. Mary Kantorowski, a longtime Fairfield resident, died Aug. 11 at her home. She was 98.
Born in Granville, N.Y., Kantorowski was a Fairfield resident for the past 72 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, where she was active in the Women's Guild. Kantorowski was also a member of the St. Thomas Seniors.
She was married to John E. Kantorowski, who predeceased her. She enjoyed playing Pokeno and bingo at the Fairfield Senior Center. Kantorowski's family said her door was always open and she delighted in preparing traditional Polish meals as well as baking for the family and friends.
Kantorowski is survived by a son, John "Jack" E. Kantorowski, and his fiancee, Judy, of Fairfield, her caretakers of several years; and a grandson, a great-grandson Richard and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Edmund W. Dougiello Fairfield Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
