Mary Helen Williams, 90, Of Fairfield, Residential Real Estate Agent

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Mary Helen Williams of Fairfield, and Landgrove, Vt. , died Sept. 3. She was 90.

Williams was born July 5 1923, in Fairfield, to Abner Wheeler Mitchell of Washington and Ella Kenyon Mitchell, from Binghamton, N.Y. She graduated from Walnut Hill School and Colby Junior College, now Colby-Sawyer College. She worked as a secretary. She was a residential real estate agent for Barker Walsh and Jensen Smith for 20 years.

She was a member of many charitable organizations, including the Junior League of Bridgeport and the Bridgeport Ladies Charitable Society. She served on the Board of the Burroughs Home in Bridgeport and volunteered there for a number of years. She volunteered for many other organizations, including Bridgeport Hospital, Operation Hope and the Woodfield Home. She had been a lifelong member of the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport. She was a member at Brooklawn Country Club and Fairfield Beach Club in Fairfield, as well as Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, Vt.

Williams is survived by her husband, Arthur Collins Williams; children, Katherine Williams Krents of Bethesda, Md., Charles Gallup Williams (Jacqueline Wygant) of Portland, Ore., Arthur "Bill" Collins Williams, Jr. of Fairfield, and Douglas Kenyon Williams (Deidre Klein Williams) of Easton; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at the United Congregational Church, 877 Park Ave., Bridgeport, with a reception at the church following the service.
