Mary Carlson, 92, Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Mary Carlson, of Fairfield, died on Thursday, Feb. 18. She was 92.

Born in Bridgeport, Carlson retired from the Southern New England Telephone Company, where she was an operator. She also retired from Roosevelt School and the Skane School, where she worked as a teacher's aide.

She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, a lifelong member of the Gaelic American Club and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.

Carlson is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert "Bob" Carlson; children Robert "Cob" Carlson of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Mary Ann Snedeker of Ashville, North Carolina, John Carlson of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, and Margaret of Fairfield; grandchildren Timothy, Emily, Mary, Monica, Molly, Jack, Erin and Finn; sister Ann Kiely of Trumbull; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, in Fairfield. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, in Stratford. There are no visiting hours. Larson Funeral Home, in Bridgeport, is assisting with arrangements.
