FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Marie Emily Dobey, of Fairfield, died in her home on Friday, June 26. She was 68.
Dobey was born on Dec. 1, 1946, in New Bedford, Mass. to John Charles and Emily (nee Dubiel) Gobeil, graduating from Westfield State College and retiring as an educator in the Stamford public school system.
She was predeceased by her brother Florie Gobeil.
Dobey is survived by her daughter Lisa Dobey of Boston; two stepdaughters, Pamela Peters and her husband Kevin of Pomfret, and Laura Amicucci and her husband Joseph; three grandchildren, Christopher, Eleanor, and Caroline Amicucci; sister Carol Sylvia of Cranston, R.I.; nephew Mark Sylvia of East Greenwich, R.I., and former husband and friend Russell Dobey of Wilton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, 216 Scribner Ave. in Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Yale Cancer Center/Smilow Cancer Hospital..
Arrangements will be handled by Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk.
