FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Lucy Mitchell Rush of Fairfield died Nov. 1 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was 95.
Born May 4, 1917, in Birmingham, Ala., to Samie Lou Borders and John Mitchell. She worked as a bank manager for Merchant's Bank and Connecticut Bank and Trust for many years. She was a resident of Parish Court for the past 25 years.
Rush loved to quilt, sew and crochet, but she most enjoyed her garden. She was married to David Martin Rush, who predeceased her.
She is survived by two brothers, Edward Mitchell and John Mitchell, both of Texas; three sons, David Martin (Patsy) Rush, Donald Mitchell (Mariles) Rush and Dennis Montgomery (Mary Ellen) Rush; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield. A service will start at 6:30 p.m.
