FAIRFIELD, Conn. Katherine Carrigan Grasso of Fairfield died Aug. 2 at her home surrounded by family. She was 85.
Grasso was born in Bridgeport to Robert and Frances Carrigan. Married to the late Leonard Grasso, she lived in Fairfield for 56 years. Grasso worked at Harvey Hubbell and the Brooklawn Country Club.
She sang in the choir at Holy Family Church in Fairfield for many years, performing as soloist at many funerals and weddings. Grasso loved sewing, knitting and collecting antiques. She enjoyed playing pinochle and cribbage with her friends.
Grasso is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Vincent) Zichichi, of Trumbull; a son, Leonard Grasso Jr., of Fairfield; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Grasso, of Shelton; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Grasso.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church. Burial will be private. Spear-Miller Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
