FAIRFIELD, Conn. Karen Mary Krozier Lazowski of Fairfield died Aug. 25. She was 63.
Born Nov. 6, 1948, in Bridgeport, Lazowski was a lifelong Fairfield resident. She graduated from Sacred Heart University in 1970 and received a master's degree from Fairfield University in 1974. She was married to John Lazowski.
Lazowski's passion in life was in educating others, her family said. She taught in the Bridgeport school system at the former Jefferson School and Roosevelt School. She later taught at Holland Hill School of Fairfield.
She retired after 15 years to help care for her grandchildren. She liked to cook and sew, and especially enjoyed local history, participating in Colonial period re-enactments at the Ogden House, Holland Hill School and other venues.
Lazowski is survived by her husband; two daughters, MaryAnn (Scott) Petrone and Catherine (Giovanni) Correa, both of Fairfield; and two grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home and at 10 a.m., at St. Emery's Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Emery's Church.
