SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- John S. Majancsik Sr. died Thursday, Jan. 7. He was 79.
Born in Bridgeport, he was a lifelong resident of Southport. Majancsik retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Fairfield Public Works Department after 40 years of service.
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Ann M. (Stankey) Majancsik; son John Steven Majancsik Jr. of Maine; grandson John Stanley Majancsik of Southport; and a niece and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Julia Majancsik, and his in-laws, Steve and Ann Stankey.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 S. Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. A Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, also in Fairfield. Interment will be private.
