Born July 21, 1922, in Westborough, Mass., she was the daughter of Noah and Abigail Trank. She graduated from LaSalle Junior College and worked as a legal secretary in Boston before marrying John G. Donahue.
She later worked in the Fairfield education system. A longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Donahue was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Altar Guild. She was an avid gardener and reader and loved quilting, but above all else, she delighted in her role as a wife, mother and grandmother.
Donahue is survived by her husband; five children, Susan D. (Michael) Moore, of Orange, Jane D. (Bruce) Torello, of Woodbridge, Megan D. (Stephen) Eckenberger, of Weston, Annie D. (Glenn) Pastore, of Otisfield, Maine, and John G. Donahue Jr., of New York City; and nine grandchildren, two great-grandsons, a niece and two nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Lindsey.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
