Irene Kadar Bahe, 97, Longtime Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Irene Kadar Bahe, formerly of Fairfield, died Sept. 11. She was 97.

Bahe was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Louis and Elizabeth Kadar. She moved to Connecticut as a young child and resided in the Bridgeport and Fairfield area for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having served as the president of the Relief Society in her Connecticut congregation for over 13 years. After raising their family in Fairfield, she and her husband retired to Utah and subsequently to Missouri, Louisiana and recently Colorado.

Bahe is survived by her children, Dorothy Bertch and Arlene Bahe, both of Longmont, Colo., and Henry "Hank" (Kathleen) Bahe of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Henry F.G. Bahe; siblings, Zoltan, Emil, Louis, William and Edward Kadar, Lillian Kenez and Elsa Molnar; and son-in-law, Frederick Bertch.

Services will be private.
