FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Frances M. DiGregorio,89, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday June 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
DiGregorio was born Feb. 19 1926, in Rumford, Maine, and is the daughter of the late Sebastian and Carmella (Pepperado) DiGregorio.
DiGregorio worked for 38 years at S.N.E.T. until her retirement as chief operator. In her retirement, she remained an active member of telephone company's Pioneer Club.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, the Ladies Guild and the Thursday morning prayer group. She was a daily communicant and deeply devoted to her faith.
DiGregorio was an adventurous woman who traveled the world. Although she never had children of her own, she was a loving mother and grandmother to her adopted Gauthier family in Connecticut.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Claire Lambert and Carmen Thibodeau, and one very special adopted sister, Madeleine Gauthier of Fairfield.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Lawrence, Frank, John, Dominic; and four sisters, Mary, Jenny, Antoinette and Anne.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. in St Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will be in Rumford, Maine at a later date.
