FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Florence (Fatsi) Chanaca of Fairfield died Friday, May 17. She was 95.
Chanaca was born May 20, 1918, in North Grosvenordale. She moved to Bridgeport after her marriage and lived there until 1956. She then moved to Fairfield and resided there for the last 57 years of her life. She was a member of St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church where she belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary and the Retirees Club. She was a retired employee of the Harvey Hubbell Company.
Chanaca is survived by daughter, Judith Schorg; son, Nicholas Chanaca (Cynthia); brother, Thomas Fatsi (Marguerite); sister-in-law, Mary Fatsi; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur N. Chanaca; sisters, Dorothy Bebe and Elizabeth Carameta; and brother, Theodore Fatsi.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. directly at St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Road, Easton, CT 06612. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. A Trisagion Service will be held at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Dimitrie Church.
