FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Eugene G. Thompson died Friday, June 28. He was 84.
Thompson was born in Caribou, Maine, son of Lynwood and Olive (Walters) Thompson, and spent his adult life in Fairfield. He retired from the banking business, South Norwalk Savings Bank, in 1994 after over 40 years of service. Until recently, for many years, he was a school crossing guard in Fairfield and was also associated with the Sacred Heart University Book Store.
Thompson is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Marc E. Thompson; sisters-in-law, Marcia Clarke Read (husband) Richard of Stuart, Fla., and Sharon Clarke Fodor (Robert) of Stratford.
Calling hours are Tuesday, July 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
