Edward Barcheski, 89, Of Fairfield, Worked At Sikorsky Aircraft

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Edward Barcheski of Fairfield died Monday May 6. He was 89.

Barcheski was born in Hazelton, Pa., and was an area resident for many years. He was a retired employee for Sikorsky Aircraft and a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Holy Family Church Holy Name Society, American Legion Post 143, Knights of Columbus Fr. Coleman Chapter and the Anchor Club of Fairfield. He was a longtime volunteer at the Durham Fair.

Barcheski is survived by daughters, Nancy Montes (Joseph), of Durham and Judi Beliveau (Dennis), of Burnville, Pa.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Barcheski; siblings, Rose Dusick, Agnes Cherba, Walter and Joseph Barcheski; and a special friend, Clare Carroll.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 9  from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will take place Friday, May 10  at 9:15 a.m. from the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave., Bridgeport and at 10 a.m. at Holy Family R.C. Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
