Corcoran was born to William and Annie Worley Gillespy. She was raised in Bridgeport and was a resident of Stratford for many years. She moved to Fairfield nine years ago.
Corcoran is survived by her children, Arthur Corcoran Jr. (Mary Ann) of Fairfield; Barbara Barry (Edward) of Milford, Jan Corcoran (Kathy) of Middletown, Marlayne Penney (Clyde) of Maine; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Stirna of Milford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Arthur J. Corcoran, Sr.; and siblings, Florence Glynn, Lillian Cutler, Nancy Benson, Marion Cooper, Thomas, Robert, John, Sidney, Ralph, and William Gillespy.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Reverend Ed Duffy officiating. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
