FAIRFIELD, Conn. Charlene P. Labonte, a former Fairfield resident, died Aug. 1. She was 69.
Born and raised in Biddeford, Maine, Labonte lived in Fairfield before moving to New Haven 20 years ago. She worked as a management service supervisor for SNET and AT&T, retiring after 35 years of service.
Her family said that she led a life with little concern for material pleasures, but was passionately devoted to her faith, family and dearest friends.
Labonte is survived by a sister, Michele A. (Bruce) Hubler, of Bridgeport; an uncle, Robert Labonte, of Quebec, Canada; and several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Madeleine Therrien Labonte.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. Mary Church in Norwalk. Lesko and Polke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
