FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Carol Kaplan Dworken, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 29. She was 84.
She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late David and Sadie P. Fitelson Kaplan, and was a graduate of Central High School.
She attended Mannes School of Music in New York, and was an accomplished musician, teacher of piano and harp and a professional performer and artist.
She was a longtime member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom of Bridgeport.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Myron (Mike) Dworken of Fairfield; her children, Davie Dworken Peck and her husband Chris of Monroe, and Jeff Dworken of Easton; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Benjamin and Jared Dworken, and Sara and Daniel Peck; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Dworken; and her sister, Brenda Kaplan.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with interment following at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery.
Immediately following the interment, the family will be gathering at 275 Valley Road, Fairfield. Minyan services will be at 7 p.m. The family will be available after noon Thursday and Friday. Minyan will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Senior Services of Fairfield or to the St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation.
