FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Bruce E. Harrington of Fairfield died Thursday, Aug. 22. He was 54.
Harrington was born April 24, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, son of George and Phyllis Harrington. When he was six weeks old, his family moved to Chatham, N.J., where he went to school up through high school. He then went on to graduate from Ithaca College where he received his degree in Radio/Television Communications.
He spent the early years of his career at the newly created ESPN, then Prime Network in Houston, Texas to America's Health Network in Orlando. After marriage the couple moved to Fairfield, when he became director of customer support engineering at PanAmSat in Greenwich.
Harrington is survived by his wife, Barbara; (Erin); his parents, George and Phyllis Harrington of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Joyce (David); his in-laws, Rod and Bonnie McClure of Orlando; aunt, Barbara Smith of Newington; brothers-in-law, Bruce (Tammy) of Orlando and James (Jen); and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Spear - Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Road Fairfield. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 11a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
