Breen was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Norwood, (Middlesex) England. She graduated from school, and was employed as a typist. After her marriage she arrived in the U.S. on the Queen Mary. They settled into the family home on Shelton Road in Nichols (Trumbull) Conn. The family relocated first to Fairfield, and shortly after to Nichols in the early 1950's. She worked at an ENT doctor's office in Bridgeport. She obtained a real estate broker's license and operated Breen Real Estate out of her home.
She was a Sunday school teacher at Nichols Methodist Church, a cub scout den mother and involved in the local PTA. She joined Westport Bank & Trust, initially in customer service and soon after as an assistant loan officer. She relocated to Zephyrhills FL in the late 1980s.
Breen is survived by her sons, Terry Breen (Doreen) of Thomaston, Conn., David Breen (Geraldine) of Wimauma, Fla.; three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; sisters in England, Sonia Coats and Edna Richardson; and many nephews and nieces in the U.S. and UK.
A celebration of her life will be held after the 10 a.m. service Nov. 24 at Nichols United Methodist Church, 25 Shelton Road, Trumbull, CT 06614.
