FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Barbara Zumstag, a lifelong resident of Fairfield and Bridgeport, died Dec. 20 after a three-month illness.
Zumstag was a member of the Bridgeport Area Cultural Italian Organization. She completed the Rite of Catholic Initiation of Adults and proudly became a Catholic. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield.
She attended daily Mass and was involved in many ministries. She was active with Assumption's "Off the Streets" ministry. She volunteered cleaning the church and lovingly took care of the altar linens. Recently, she became a Eucharistic Minister and loved assisting at Masses, as well as bringing Holy Communion to the sick.
A memorial Mass will be conducted at 9 a.m. Jan. 9 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield.
