FAIRFIELD, Conn. The Thanksgiving holiday will bring closings and schedule changes to all town facilities. But whats closed just Thursday, and what will shut down all weekend? Heres a rundown so you can plan accordingly:
All Fairfield Public Schools have an early dismissal Wednesday and will be closed Thursday and Friday. Classes will resume Monday on a normal schedule.
Old Town Hall and Sullivan Independence Hall will be closed throughout the weekend as well. All Town Hall offices will close at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and will not reopen until Monday at 8:30 a.m. The Fairfield Senior Center will also be closed for the four-day weekend.
Fairfields public libraries and the Pequot Library will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Main Library (1080 Old Post Road) and the Fairfield Woods Branch Library (1147 Fairfield Woods Road) will reopen Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The Pequot Library will also get back to its normal schedule at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Solid Waste and Recycling Center (One Rod Highway) is closed Thursday. It will be open for normal hours Friday (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Saturday (7 a.m. to noon). For information on curbside trash pickup, call your trash hauler.
The Recreation Departments Fitness Center at the Eunice Postol Recreation Center (75 Mill Plain Road) will close Thursday. It will be open for its normal hours on Friday (6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.), Saturday and Sunday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
The Fairfield Museum and History Center is also closed Thursday, but open for the rest of the weekend on its normal schedule. The center will have a special event Friday afternoon to tie in with Bravo, its exhibit on Fairfield County theater. Artist Jeanine DeFalco will run an improv class for families from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
