Watch Out for Flooding in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfielders should be cautious when heading out on the roads Thursday afternoon. Strong thunderstorms and heavy rain have led to flood risks in Fairfield. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Fairfield County through 3:15 p.m. Thursday. Areas near streams, urban areas, low underpasses and streets with low-lying spots pose the highest risk for flash flooding.

If you encounter a flooded street, you should not attempt to drive through the deepest spots. Try to find an alternate route if possible, or travel slowly through the shallowest spot in the puddle.
