Warm, Wet Week Is Coming Up In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Classic Connecticut summer heat and humidity will remain in Fairfield County through Wednesday, July 2, before showers and thunderstorms break up the heat, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies will be partly sunny on Monday with a high temperature around 82 degrees. Temperatures are expected to dip in to the high 60s during the evening.

Showers and thunderstorms become more likely on Thursday, June 30, with a 70 percent chance and a high of 81.

Independence Day could feature more rain and thunder with a high of 77 degrees. Chance of rain is 60 percent.

Meteorologists  are also tracking a possible tropical storm that could produce high seas and strong winds for the area late Friday, July 4 and into Saturday, July 5.

Since the storm is not yet formed, experts are maintaining a low confidence level about the impact of the potential storm.
