Two Cars Stolen on Same Fairfield Street

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two cars were stolen on Adley Road in Fairfield overnight Wednesday. Both were found Thursday morning in Bridgeport.

In the first case, an SUV was left unlocked, with keys inside, in the driveway of a house on the 400 block of the street. It was taken sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. Bridgeport Police found it at the scene of an accident, but the driver fled and was not found. 

The second theft happened on the 300 block of Adley. This time, Bridgeport Police found the car at the corner of Brooks and Putnam Streets. Fairfield Police are still investigating both thefts.

? Amber Allen, 22, of Alvin Street was charged with shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store Wednesday afternoon, police say. Store security guards told police they saw Allen on a surveillance camera placing 11 items into a shopping bag. They also heard her ripping tags off items in the store’s dressing room. She paid for two items at the register, but walked out with 11 additional items worth $368, according to the police report. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 15.
