Tetreau Elected First Selectman in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Michael Tetreau can drop the "interim" from his first selectman's title. 

Tetreau, a Democrat, defeated Republican Robert Bellitto Jr. and independent Hugh Dolan Tuesday. With ballots counted in nearly all districts, Tetreau leads with 6,090 votes to Bellitto's 4,575.

Tetreau's Democratic running mate Cristin McCarthy Vahey and Republican James Walsh also won seats on the Board of Selectman. 

Republican incumbents Thomas Flynn and Christopher DeWitt kept their seats on the Board of Finance. They will be joined on the board by Democrat Elaine Gaffney.
