Power Outages Caused By Wind Repaired In Fairfield

updated: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Eversource and United Illuminating are reporting a number of power outages across Fairfield County on Tuesday evening due to strong wind gusts.

The power outages include, as of 11:55 p.m.: 

  • Darien: 25
  • Greenwich: 66
  • New Canaan: 25
  • Norwalk: 18
  • Stamford: 3, down from 114
  • Weston: 1
  • Wilton: 12

Previously reported power outages in Danbury and Fairfield have been restored.

Wind gusts of 44 mph were reported Tuesday afternoon at Sikorsky Airport in Bridgeport and 42 mph at the Danbury Airport. Blustery conditions were expected to continue overnight and into Wednesday. 

It was not known when power would be restored although repairs were underway in some towns.
