In a statement, the university announced that the slurs were written on the wall of the Student Center and Welte Parking Garage. Police are currently investigating the hate crime and crews from the college went to work on Sunday to begin removing the offensive words that were painted on the buildings.
A temporary banner with the school’s logo was hung over the racial slurs until crews could completely remove the paint, which will require chemical treatment, a school spokesperson said. The incident is currently being investigated by the Central Connecticut State University police.
