Fairfielders can rest assured: The bag of body parts found on the towns shore Sunday did not come from a human. Fairfield police announced Monday morning that the organs found along Southport Beach on Sunday came from a deer.
A jogger discovered a bag containing animal organs while running along the beach late Sunday morning. Police sent the contents to the state medical examiners office for testing. Tests confirmed that the parts came from a deer. Fairfield police said Monday they had been treating the case as if it were human remains before Mondays tests, but there will now be no further investigation.
