FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A person was struck and killed by a Metro-North train between the Fairfield and Southport stations early Thursday, according to the Connecticut Post.
The accident happened at about 12:45 a.m., when a New Haven-bound train hit the person, who has not been identified, NBC Connecticut said.

No delays were reported Thursday morning from the incident, Metro-North said.
It was not known why the pedestrian was on the tracks.
A man, 45, was hit by a train at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on the New Haven Line in Port Chester, N.Y., Metro-North said. The man not been identified, and long delays occurred during the Wednesday rush-hour due to that incident.
