The work, expected to begin about 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, and end about 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, will occur on the Park Avenue roundabout and on the southbound Exit 47 off-ramp from the Merritt Parkway/Route 15 onto Park Avenue, DOT said.

Drivers should expect lane closures on the parkway in the area of the project. While the construction zone will be open to traffic from emergency responders, others will be detoured to Exit 46 (Jefferson Street), then to Jefferson Street north and then back on to Park Avenue.

Officials said the project's scheduled completion time could change if bad weather prevents progress.

Officials said that all drivers should obey the special traffic signs in the area and exercise extreme caution while passing through or near the work zone.
