Overnight Bridge Work Scheduled For I-95 In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Drivers should brace for overnight lane closures as bridge repair work begins along Interstate 95, both northbound and southbound, in Fairfield, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on its website.

The month of bridge work consists of bridge joint replacement on the bridges listed below. The regular work schedule for this project is 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday evenings.The work is scheduled to being June 30 and continue through July 26. No work will be done July 3 through July 8.

Here are the affected bridges:

Bridge 88 over Route 1, Southbound
Bridge 89 over Grasmere Avenue
Bridge 91 over Sunset Avenue
Bridge 93 over Route 1 (Kings Highway Cut-off)
Bridge 94 over Chambers Street

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound between Exit 25 for Route 130 and Exit 23 for Route 1 in Fairfield.

Traffic control personnel and signs will be used to guide motorists through the work zone.

The scheduled may be changed or extended due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Costello Industries will complete the bridge work.
