Newtown Must Pay Cop $380K For Post-Sandy Hook Shooting PTSD

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The state Board of Mediation and Arbitration has ruled that Newtown Police Officer Thomas Bean, who has not worked since the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting, is qualified for long-term disability totaling $380,000 due to suffering post-traumatic stress syndrome, the Hartford Courant reported.

The board ruled that Newtown was liable for 50 percent of Bean's pay until his retirement due to his police contract, the Courant added.

Bean has not been on the job since Dec. 14, 2012, when Adam Lanza killed 20 first-graders and six educators in the Newtown elementary school.
