FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Bridgeport man was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Fairfield on Monday afternoon. The driver of the vehicle that struck him is still at large, but the victim also now faces a misdemeanor charge.
The accident occurred near the traffic circle joining Black Rock Turnpike and Kings Highway about 5:40 p.m. The motorcyclist, George Seri, 27, was driving in the left lane of Kings Highway when an SUV made a left turn in front of him from the right lane. The motorcyclist hit his brakes, but collided with the side of the SUV, and was thrown from his bike.
The driver of the SUV then drove away onto Black Rock Turnpike. The victim described it as dark blue with New York license plates. Anyone who might be able to identify the driver should contact the Fairfield Police at 203-254-4800.
Seri complained of wrist, back and neck pain, but declined a ride to the hospital. During the post-crash interview, Fairfield Police learned that he had been driving with a suspended license. He was issued a misdemeanor summons for operating a vehicle under suspension and was released on a promise to appear in court.
