Monday's Storms Could Return to Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – You could have blinked and missed Monday afternoon’s first wave of storms, but that won’t be the last you’ll see of the wet weather that will start the month. A quick burst of rain dropped on Fairfield in the span of about 10 minutes Monday, but the sun returned before flooding could occur.

But the National Weather Service predicts more thunderstorms to continue through the night, leading to possible floods along Fairfield’s streets.

Forecasts call for scattered thunderstorms to hit Fairfield this evening, surrounding pockets of sunshine and clear skies. Most rain should subside by early Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. for the entire county.
