Metro-North Delays, Dorm Fight And DUI Tops Fairfield News

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Here are some of the stories that made the news this week in Fairfield:

The trip to work was stalled for train commuters on Metro-North's New Haven Line on Wednesday after a power line broke in New York. Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy said getting the trains back up to full capacity could take as long as three weeks.

Three students at Fairfield University were charged with breach of peace after a fight broke out in one of the dorms Sunday night. 

A local woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cocaine a month after she got into a one-car accident that tore up more than 200 yards of property.

The Fairfield Center for the Connecticut Audubon Society held its annual two-day Birds In Their Habitat art exhibit and named a local Norwalk man as Artist of the Year. 

Police charged a man with DUI after he almost caused an accident on the Post Road. 

Dwight Elementary School hosted its annual School Fair this weekend, one of the biggest fundraisers of the year.

Two Fairfield University Alumni banned together to create a new manufacturing company in Connecticut called Diff3rnt, which makes canvas cellphone cases.
